-21st Century classroom really just adds digital technologies…most everything else are literacies we’ve been dealing with

-“Technology is a state of mind…an attitude…a way of life”

-Teach students to think, whether it’s tech, science, math, or any subject…teach them to question: I notice, I wonder…”

-POW-Mathforum.org

-“Can’t say I don’t know, but can say “Just a minute, let me think”

I LIKE THIS…I TRY TO DO IT ANYWAY, BUT THIS IS A GOOD WAY TO WORD IT

-Puppet skits to teach concepts…allows creativity

-Now discussing Classroom Response Systems…tech with ActivVote or non-tech with Pinch Cards (A, B, C, D pinch right answer and hold up) and ASK ME cards…give to kids at beginning of class take them when a response is given or question asked

-GPS in classes…math problems based on locations…coords to flag pole, indirect measurement to determine height of flag pole

-Flip USB video cameras

-SLAM (Science learns about math)- quick activity that gets students asking questions…demonstrating density activity with Diet/Regular soda floating or sinking

-Problem Solving with manipulatives in both science and math

-Using ETA Cuisanaire blocks to teach balancing equations, different colors for different elements, etc

-Who Dun It unit, integrating all courses…history taught legal standpoint…English teachers did prosecution/defense…mock trial, lab evidence with chemistry, skid marks on road, etc…

-Blood spatter lab using data on a graph to determine height of drop falling…

SPLATTERS ARE DIFFERENT DIAMETER IF DROPPED FROM DIFFERENT HEIGHTS…graph the data

-Crater Impact…Drop and measure different mass/density ball into bucket of sand to determine size of crater

TURNING INTO A HERE’S THE LABS WE’VE DONE RATHER THAN HOW THEY WORK TOGETHER TO INCORPORATE BOTH MATH AND SCIENCE

-Using DampRid to teach endothermic reactions

-Exothermic Polyurethane Foam

-Motion detector probe to map ocean floor mmodels…graph data look for correlations, quadratics, etc.
